Dear TBR, Why do boys always flirt with every girl? -Sally Dear Sally, I know it is difficult when your favorite boy flirts with you and then with the girl who sits in front of you and the girl who sits behind you and the one to your right and so on. In order to find a solution to a problem it is important to go to the root, or the cause of the problem. Often times, your favorite boy is very flirtatious with many girls because he is looking for reassurance that he is good-looking, funny, intelligent, charming, etc. He has not yet realized that in order to have real security he must place his full trust and self-worth in Christ. When one is rooted in the Big Guy he or she does not look for attention or security in the other things in his or her life. So, I would say be on the look out for a boy who is rooted in Christ and not looking to you--or anyone else for attention. Also, take time to reflect on your other friendships with boys. Do you do the same thing to other boys? Do not look for you security in the attention of others. In order to be happy and have real peace in your life you are going to want to choose to be rooted in Christ. Sincerely, TBR
Dear All, Please check out this letter written by the United States Catholic Council of Bishops (USCCB)...it is fantastic! Our Bishops echo our Popes in challenging us to not be afraid to follow Christ: "Both Pope John Paul II and Pope Benedict XVI have called us to be a Church for young people...a Church that is not afraid to require much, after having given much; that does not fear asking from young people the effort to of a noble and authentic adventure, such as that of following Christ. We, your bishops, are asking: Come join us in the adventure!" Once you have read it, please let me know your thoughts on this letter.
