Cardinal Stafford Celebrates 50th Anniversary Mass

Oct. 30, 2007 - Cardinal J. Francis Stafford served as Archbishop of Denver from 1986 until he was called to Rome in 1997. This past Sunday, the Archdiocese of Denver joined His Eminence in celebrating the 50th anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood.

On Sunday, October 28, Cardinal Stafford formally celebrated his anniversary in a high Mass at the Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception. The ceremony featured a special choir performance of Mozart's Coronation Mass, and a homily in which Stafford reflected upon life in service to a priestly vocation.
